The RESILAND CA+ (Resilient Landscapes in Central Asia) Program is a flagship regional initiative of the World Bank aimed at landscape restoration, sustainable natural resource management, and enhancing the adaptive capacity of communities to climate change and land degradation.
The program covers all Central Asian countries. At this stage, it is being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, with active efforts underway to engage the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the initiative.
The current implementation is carried out through three national projects:
- RESILAND Tajikistan (since May 2024)
- RESILAND Kyrgyz Republic (starting June 2025)
- RESILAND Uzbekistan (starting July 2025)
Each of these projects includes a regional subcomponent focused on strengthening transboundary cooperation, knowledge exchange, and developing harmonized approaches to landscape restoration. Although these subcomponents are part of separate national projects, they are coordinated and integrated at the regional level under the leadership of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
