Visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan

December 21, 2017, a meeting of CAREC’s representatives with Mr. Ikrom Nazarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held in Almaty. This meeting was part of a series of bilateral talks between CAREC and the ambassadors of the Central Asian countries on the eve of regional events scheduled for the next year.


The main results of CAREC activities for 2017, opportunities for regional cooperation in the sphere of environmental protection, information on the main projects of the organization along with the latest information on preparation for the Central Asian International Environmental Forum, which will be held in 2018 in Tashkent, were announced at the meeting.

It was also reported that effective dialogue in the region is facilitated by platform through which parliamentarians and diplomats from Central Asian countries can be directly involved in various programs for environmental development. To ensure the sustainability of the current platform, CAREC organizes a series of national meetings, during which it is planned to receive comments for the finalization of the Roadmap of Cooperation between representatives of the MFA and parliaments and to discuss the regional action plan for 2018-2020. Such a meeting was held on November 28 in Astana.

In addition, it was stressed that in 2018 the Year of Uzbekistan will be held in Kazakhstan. The countries are consistently strengthening their partnership in various fields - trade and economy, investments, energy, agriculture, transport, and transit.


After a two-way exchange, Mr. Nazarov met all the members of the CAREC’s headquarters in Almaty.
