Dushanbe hosted double-sided meetings with key partners of the CAMP4ASB project

March 15, 2017, Dushanbe hosted a meeting of the National and Regional Coordination Groups of the Program on Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB). The representatives of project implementation groups from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in this meeting.


During the meeting, they discussed the priorities of communication and realization of joint CAMP4ASB project plans, work issues on cooperation between national and regional components of the project. Teams noted that areas such as capacity building, exchange of information and regular meetings could be an excellent platform for long-term cooperation. However, issues related to the complaint and feedback mechanism (CFM) under the project were also considered. The forms of internal registration and monitoring of the complaints and feedback process were agreed upon, with establishing internal and external communication channels to maintain the CFM at the proper level.

In addition to the internal meeting of the project teams, double-sided meetings was held with key stakeholders of the project, including those ministries and departments that carry out their activities in the field of climate services and sector development, water management and disaster risk reduction.

It was determined, during the meetings, that cooperation, both at the national and regional levels, is an important step towards sustainable development in the face of climate change in Central Asia.
