The second Training of Trainers on Basin Planning is being held in Almaty

June 20-22, 2017, CAREC conducts a training of trainers on basin planning in Almaty.

_________

The training is held within the framework of the GIZ program "Transboundary Water Resources Management in Central Asia" (TWRM CA) and the Smart Waters project, implemented with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

CAREC as a think tank offers a series of basic capacity building training courses for trainers in the field of water cooperation and integrated water resources management. For example, the basis for this training for trainers was the "Basin Planning Handbook", developed by CAREC with the support of the TWRM CA program in 2014.

The main goal is formation of a group of potential trainers of basin planning who are able to use the methods on the ground and disseminate the knowledge in the Central Asian region. Representatives of Afghanistan are involved in such training for the first time.

The program includes both practical and theoretical knowledge on the basin planning, as well as special training techniques that can be used to conduct trainings on the ground.

During the training, participants will develop a virtual basin plan, as well as receive a variety of training materials to work with.
