The 39th meeting of the CAREC Board of Governors

The meeting was held on December 5, 2017 in Almaty, in the head office of CAREC.

The Board of Governors is a decision-making body of CAREC. The Board represents the organization at national, regional and international levels. Since its establishment in 2001 there were 39 meetings of CAREC Board of Governors. These meetings serve as a platform for discussion and decisions on various issues that have contributed to the formation and strategic development of the organization.

The Board members from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and international organizations and NGOs participated.

At the beginning of the meeting, CAREC Executive Director Iskandar Abdullaev delivered an annual report on the work done by the organization. Participants also watched a video message from the CAREC program managers. In addition, CAREC's work plan for 2018, not related to the main project activity, was presented by Shakhboz Akhmedov, Manager of Knowledge, Projects and Resource Management Unit, and the financial report by Balzhan Adilzhanova, Chief Accountant of CAREC.

The next meeting of the Board is scheduled in the framework of the Central Asian International Environmental Forum in Tashkent in 2018.
