From 28 of August till 2 of September 2016 the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia will take part in the World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden.

The aim is to present the regional initiatives to improve water cooperation, reach SDGs and promote sustainable growth through CAREC projects.

While the primary focus of WWW will be the “water for sustainable growth” theme, the Week will also follow up more generally on the implementation of the water related SDGs and the new climate agreement. Firmly placed at the intersection between policy, research and practice the World Water Week is also a natural place for exploring new ideas and perspectives in the area of water and sustainable growth between a diverse set of actors.

CAREC supports delegation of Central Asia consisting of representatives of Parliaments, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, environment and water state agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the seminars and side-events dedicated to the achievement of Global Agenda 2030. During the Week CAREC will organize the exhibition booth and host three mini-seminars within it in order to showcase and discuss the water cooperation and SDGs implementation in Central Asia.
