RESILAND Kyrgyzstan: OVOP+1 Production Training Supports the Development of Local Entrepreneurship

Publication date: 16 July 2026

A series of production training sessions for local producers continues in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic under the One Village One Product (OVOP+1) initiative. Experienced OVOP technologists are delivering hands-on training, helping entrepreneurs adopt modern processing technologies for locally sourced raw materials, diversify their product range, and improve product quality.

In the Jalal-Abad Region, participants are being trained to produce energy bars made from talkan and kurut. This product combines traditional Kyrgyz ingredients with modern production technologies, creating new opportunities to manufacture products that meet market demand.

In the Uzgen District of Osh Region, local producers are learning technologies for producing natural blackberry juice and rosehip syrup. During the practical sessions, special emphasis is placed on compliance with production processes, product quality assurance, and the efficient use of locally sourced raw materials.

In the Alay District, producers are being trained to make honey candiesas well as felt snow leopard souvenirs—one of the national symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic.

These production training sessions help local entrepreneurs develop new products, adopt modern technologies, make more efficient use of locally sourced raw materials, enhance the competitiveness of their products, and create additional opportunities to grow their businesses.

The activities are being implemented under the World Bank-financed Resilient Landscape Restoration Project in the Kyrgyz Republic (RESILAND Kyrgyz Republic), RESILAND CA+ Program.
