Technical Training Workshop for Central Asian Experts on Paris Agreement GHG Emission Inventory and Reporting 17-20 May 2021
CAREC in cooperation with the Institute of Global Climate and Ecology named after Academician Yu.A. Israel (Moscow), with the financial support of UNESCAP and the Russian Federation, successfully held a four-day seminar: "Methodological recommendations for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions and reporting under the Paris Agreement for the countries of Central Asia", May 17 - 20, 2021
The authors of the online methodological tool are employees of the institute who took part in the development of international reporting rules, are responsible for the relevant sections of the national cadaster of the Russian Federation, have experience in checking the reports of other countries within the framework of official reviews of the UNFCCC. The tool is designed to help countries that are not Parties to Annex I of the UNFCCC prepare for reporting rules under the Paris Agreement.
During the seminar, the specialists of the Institute spoke about the new reporting rules, the structure and possibilities of using the online tool, as well as the modern reporting of the parties to Annex I and the expected changes in connection with the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
