On September 18, 2023, the 13th Central Asian Leadership Program (CALP) started in Almaty. During five days of intensive training from leading experts from around the world, 15 people from five Central Asian countries representing non-governmental organizations, private sector, government and academic institutions will be trained.
The main objective of the 13th CALP is to enable young professionals in the region to become influential leaders in the field of environmental sustainability. By equipping young professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills and networks, CALP aims to develop a new generation of people capable of addressing climate change, promoting sustainable development and building regional cooperation to build a sustainable and environmentally sound future in Central Asia.
CALP 2023 is organized by the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) in cooperation with the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, the World Bank, the Secretariat of the High-Level Dialogue Platform Secretariat Blue Peace Central Asia Initiative and Coca-Cola.
Greetings to the program participants were made by Mr. Zafar Mahmudov, Executive Director of CAREC, Dosbol Bekmagambetov, Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. Volker Frobarth, Ambassador and Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, and Ms. Dimka Stanchev from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
