The Project Office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in Turkmenistan continues to strengthen its cooperation with the Kazakh-German University (DKU, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan), contributing to the development of highly qualified specialists in the fields of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable development.
Within the framework of the partnership between the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan and DKU, two representatives of Turkmenistan — Nurberdy Atayev and Mengli Atayeva — were admitted to the Master's Programme in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in 2024. Owing to their high level of academic performance, determination, and active engagement in scientific research, they successfully completed their studies and were awarded the academic degree of Master's.
This achievement serves as further confirmation of the effectiveness of the cooperation between CAREC and DKU, aimed at strengthening Turkmenistan’s human capacity and enhancing regional cooperation in environmental protection and the sustainable management of natural resources.
It is worth noting that for the third consecutive year, the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan has been providing comprehensive informational, advisory, and organizational support to Turkmen applicants wishing to pursue Master's studies at the Kazakh-German University. This initiative contributes to expanding academic mobility among young people, fostering international cooperation, and preparing a new generation of professionals capable of effectively addressing today’s environmental and climate challenges.
"The development of human capital is one of the most important investments in a sustainable future. We are sincerely proud of our graduates' achievements and firmly believe that the knowledge and practical skills they acquired at DKU will enable them to make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of Turkmenistan and the Central Asian region as a whole. The CAREC Project Office will continue to support talented young people by creating new opportunities for obtaining high-quality international education and professional development," noted Mergen Kepbanov, Director of the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan.
The CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan expresses its sincere appreciation to the leadership and faculty of the Kazakh-German University for their fruitful cooperation and for maintaining a high standard in the education and training of specialists.
CAREC intends to further expand its cooperation with leading educational institutions across the region, promoting international partnerships, strengthening academic and scientific cooperation, and contributing to the development of professional human capacity in the interests of the sustainable development of Turkmenistan and Central Asia.
