As part of the pre-conference workshop of the International Conference “Rational Use of Antimicrobials to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance: A One Health Approach,” a hands-on masterclass on preparing scientific publications will be held on November 18, 2026, at the School of Medicine, Nazarbayev University, Astana.
The online masterclass will be led by Professor Xiao-Nong Zhou, Chief Expert at China CDC and Vice Dean of the School of Global Health, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The main part of the session will be dedicated to a practical review of participants' actual manuscripts. Professor Zhou will review the submitted materials in advance and analyze the most illustrative examples during the masterclass.
Special attention will be given to:
• scientific logic and structure of the paper;
• novelty and core scientific message;
• presentation of results and their discussion;
• international relevance of the study;
• reflecting the interplay between human, animal, plant, and environmental health within the One Health approach;
• preparing manuscripts for international peer review and publication.
To participate, applicants must submit in advance:
• A manuscript or a well-developed draft paper;
• A one-page graphical abstract clearly illustrating the main concept of the study.
Materials may be submitted in English or Russian. English is preferred; if necessary, AI-assisted translation is acceptable.
Authors of selected papers must be prepared to attend the practical session in person on November 18, 2026, at Nazarbayev University (Astana) and discuss their research with Professor Zhou in person. Travel and accommodation expenses for selected participants will be covered.

The number of manuscripts that can be reviewed in detail during the masterclass is limited, so early submission is encouraged.
Participation in the masterclass is considered separately from the abstract selection for the main conference, which will take place on November 19–20, 2026.
