Specialists of the Tajikistan Resilient Landscapes Restoration Project (RESILAND Tajikistan) conducted a field mission to the Shugnan, Rushan, and Vanj districts to monitor project activities.
From 25 to 30 December 2025, they reviewed documentation, assessed the use of agricultural machinery and equipment, and planned further actions jointly with Pasture User Associations (PUAs) and Common Interest Groups (CIGs).
During meetings with PUA leaders and members, it was noted that:
· agricultural machinery and equipment (tractors, power tillers, mowers, sprayers, as well as veterinary and construction materials) were delivered on time and are in good working condition;
· all received materials have been properly registered and are actively used by group members;
· machinery services are provided to local communities in accordance with established procedures, contributing to improved agricultural practices and livelihoods.
Representatives of the jamoats and local communities expressed satisfaction with the project’s implementation and appreciation for the support, highlighting the practical benefits of the resources provided.
The mission also included:
· individual and group meetings with beneficiaries;
· recommendations on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment;
· monitoring of demonstration sites for natural pasture restoration;
· identification of several technical and documentation-related issues, for which appropriate guidance and recommendations were provided.
It was noted that increased autumn and winter precipitation has improved soil moisture levels, creating favorable conditions for pasture restoration and increased spring productivity.
