As part of the Kyrgyz Republic Resilient Landscape Restoration Project (KG RESILAND), the “Report on Stakeholder Mapping and Engagement in the Use of the Regional Roadmap for Mitigating the Impacts of Transboundary Mudflows and Floods” has been prepared.
The document covers the Central Asian region and identifies key government institutions interested in the use of the Regional Roadmap (RRM). The report examines their roles, responsibilities and expectations, existing mechanisms for interaction and cooperation, as well as approaches to engaging them in the development and implementation of the RRM.
Particular attention is given to regional-level cooperation. The report presents UN agencies, donor agencies and international organizations — development partners of the Central Asian countries — that may be involved in the implementation of the Regional Roadmap and provide expert, technical and financial support.
The report also provides recommendations for strengthening stakeholder engagement. In particular, it proposes involving representatives of relevant institutions and experts in working groups and technical working groups, holding consultations and working meetings, and ensuring their participation in the discussion and coordination of documents developed within the framework of the RRM.
The mapping results will be used in further work on the Regional Roadmap for Mitigating the Impacts of Transboundary Mudflows and Floods and its Investment Plan. The KG RESILAND project supports the development of these documents to identify the key steps required to mitigate the impacts of mudflows and floods in Central Asia, as well as the estimated costs and main sources of financing.
