The project aims to strengthen Kazakhstan’s institutional and technical capacity in the development and implementation of Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Available Techniques Reference Documents (BREF), particularly in alignment with European environmental standards.
Objectives of the project
The project aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and practical insight into best available techniques (BAT) and EU BREF implementation in the field of waste management by capacity building for BAT development and adaptation in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region.
Expected Outcomes:
Strengthened technical and practical understanding of BAT implementation in waste treatment through exposure visits and expert exchanges;

This project is funded by the German Federal Environment Ministry’s Advisory Assistance Programme (AAP) for environmental protection in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and other countries neighboring the European Union.
