We are pleased to invite you to the Second Regional One Health Conference, which will take place on September 14–15, 2026, in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. The event is organized with the support of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Bank, in collaboration with the One Health Committee under the Coordination Council for Public Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Conference marks an important transition from the program design stage to the phase of practical implementation. The key highlight will be the official launch of the first phase of the national component of the "One Health for Pandemic Prevention" program in Kyrgyzstan.
The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) serves as the Regional Secretariat for coordinating One Health activities in Central Asia. CAREC provides organizational and technical support for the work of the Regional One Health Coordination Council (ROHCC), facilitates cross-sectoral dialogue among the countries of the region, and supports the implementation of regional and national programs aimed at strengthening systems for the prevention of zoonotic diseases, combating antimicrobial resistance, and ensuring food safety.

Scientific Day: Call for Abstracts
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Regional One Health Scientific Day will be held as part of the Conference. We invite researchers, scientists, and practitioners from Central Asia to present their findings and practical experiences related to the One Health approach.
Participation formats:
- Oral presentation (selected through abstract peer review)
- Poster presentation
Key thematic areas:
- Prevention and control of zoonotic diseases
- Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
- Food safety
- Impact of climate change on disease emergence and spread
- Cross-sectoral collaboration in human, animal, and environmental health
- Integration of One Health principles into national policies and scientific research in Central Asia
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts should present original research findings or describe practical interventions implemented under the One Health framework in Central Asia.
Abstract structure (maximum 500 words):
- Introduction (Background): aim and objectives of the study/intervention, hypothesis tested, or description of the work carried out (including pilot projects).
- Methodology: study setting, design, target population, and data collection and analysis methods.
- Results: key findings, specific outcomes, and lessons learned.
- Conclusion.

Selection Process and Participation Conditions
The Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts based on their technical and scientific merit, as well as the quality of the presented results and lessons learned. Selection will also take into account the country, age, and gender of applicants to ensure equal opportunities.
- Authors of the highest-ranked abstracts will be invited to deliver oral presentations.
- Other authors will be offered the opportunity to present posters.
Funding: Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for:
- Oral presenters
- Lead authors of the top 5 poster presentations
Conference languages: Russian and English (simultaneous interpretation will be provided).
