On 10 October 2025, Dr. Batyr Mamedov, Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), and. Jergalbek Ukashev, Acting Director of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction (CESDRR), exchanged information about the activities of their respective organizations and discussed opportunities to initiate practical, mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties agreed to begin discussions on the first steps toward collaboration, including: sharing experience in implementing regional projects and harmonizing intergovernmental documents, participating in each other's events, and engaging experts in working groups.
In addition, CESDRR experts were invited to apply for the position of Expert on the development of an Online Catalogue of Climate-Induced Disasters within the KG RESILAND project.
Cooperation between CAREC and CESDRR opens new opportunities for joint efforts in promoting sustainable regional development and enhancing resilience to climate-related risks.
