Dushanbe hosted an introductory seminar within the framework of the CAMP4ASB project

March 14, 2017, Dushanbe hosted an introductory seminar to identify the needs for climate knowledge, services and capacity within the implementation of the regional components of the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB).

The seminar was attended by national partners: representatives of the ministries of finance, energy and water resources, agriculture, health and social protection of the population, labor and social protection of the population, economic development and trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of the Committees for Environmental Protection, Emergencies and Civil Defense Under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of forestry, statistics and hydrometeorology agencies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, JSC "Barki Tajik", as well as representatives of international organizations and academic communities, NGO employees and others.

The workshop provided basic information about the CAMP4ASB project; discussions were conducted on the identification and classification of information needs, data and research on adaptation to and mitigation of climate change in Tajikistan, and on the identification and involvement of stakeholders in the CAMP4ASB project.

Also, all participants of the seminar took part in an interactive session on the possible consequences of climate change to clearly understand the importance of awareness of climate change in Tajikistan and the need to take action to mitigate the impacts of climate change in the region.
