UNRCCA visits CAREC
Today, on March 31st 2016, CAREC’s Executive Director and management group held a meeting with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy (UNRCCA) for Central Asia, Mr. Petko Draganov.
During the talks both parties exchanged information on current activities and plans for the future. The meeting unlocked the cooperation potential between CAREC and UNRCCA and highlighted the collaboration opportunities within the framework of current projects such as "Water cooperation in Central Asia (CAWECOOP), etc. The parties agreed to cooperate in establishing a specific platform to coordinate project activities of all institutions operating in Central Asia on environmental matters which will be available for national and regional partners in the form of annual Water Forum for Central Asian countries.
Drawing from the discussed points, the parties have agreed upon cooperation and identified the following steps to re-enhance regional collaboration.
