Participation of representatives of the REAP project in the VIII International Trade Fair «Sughd-2022»

NAMSB RT Directorate and a group of REAP project consultants participated in the VIII International Trade Fair "Sughd-2022". The event takes place on June 17 and 18 in the "Sports Palace" of Khujand.

International Trade Fair "Sughd-2022" is held for the eighth time with the aim to present economic, industrial, agricultural and tourism potential of Sughd region, development of trade and economic relations, investments in the region's economy and strengthening of ties.

As part of the fair, a parallel trade and investment forum is planned, at which Tajik companies and enterprises present their various products to expand markets.

The fair's participants include agro-production companies mobilized under the REAP project, among others. Companies are mobilized by local consultants who conduct internal audits of production, identify all resources used in the form of water, electricity, raw materials and others, and propose measures to implement sustainable production and consumption practices. Through the active work of the project, more than 30 enterprises in Sughd Region have been mobilized at the moment.

The working visit of the project staff is also focused on the upcoming seminar in July this year, aimed at involving national financial institutions in the system of lending to businesses that implement SCP practices.

The REAP project is implemented by an international consortium that includes: the National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan (NAMSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU), adelphi Research gGmbH, Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria (AREC), STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society (STENUM Asia), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and the Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia ( CAREC)
