CAREC will Participate in the circular economy transition in Southeast Asia

The team of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) programme of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) will participate in a workshop "Advancing Circular Economy Actions and Synergies to Raise Ambition Towards SDG Commitments: Insights from Southeast Asia."

Organized by EU SWITCH-Asia Policy Support Component (PSC) in collaboration with ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance, ARAIBA Sdn Bhd, and the EU Delegation to Thailand , the event will take place on 26 February 2025.

Discussions will focus on the role of circular economy in driving sustainable economic growth, fostering job creation, and promoting innovation. A key emphasis will be placed on how businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), can transition to resource-efficient and low-carbon models.

Key discussion points:

✔ How can circular economy actions support sustainability ambitions in Southeast Asia?

✔ How do circular strategies contribute to SDGs 8, 9, 12, and 17?

✔ What policy approaches can support businesses in adopting circular economy practices?

✔ Experiences and best practices from companies implementing circular solutions.
