CAREC and XIEG signs a Memorandum of Understanding at CACCC-2026

The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore future cooperation. The agreement aims to assess opportunities for joint research and collaboration in Central Asia and arid regions, with a focus on environmental sustainability and regional development.

Under the MoU, the parties plan to develop joint projects on land restoration, water resource management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. They also intend to apply together for grants, organize workshops and conferences, exchange scientific knowledge, and provide internships and training opportunities.

The MoU establishes a framework for dialogue, information exchange, and potential long-term partnership between the two institutions.
