Publication date: 19 November 2025

As part of the implementation of the Tajikistan Resilient Landscape Restoration Project, an important event took place in Vanj District of Gorno-Badakhshan (“Mountain Badakhshan”) autonomous region (GBAO) aimed at supporting local pasture-based communities and improving veterinary services at the community level. During his official visit, Mirzonabot Alisher Khudoberdi the Governor of the region handed over essential equipment and resources to strengthen the livestock sector and enhance community resilience.

Distribution of Veterinary Supply Kits to PUU

A total of 50 veterinary supply kits were distributed among the PUU in the project’s target area. Each kit included the equipment and materials required to improve the efficiency of community-level veterinary services. Specifically, the kits included:

·        a two-wheeled motorcycle for community veterinary services;

·        first-aid kits;

·        a refrigerator for storing veterinary medicines;

·        tables and chairs for organizing workspaces and community consultations.

This support aims to enhance the responsiveness and quality of veterinary services, improve animal health management, and strengthen the capacity of local communities in sustainable pasture management.

Following the event, the District Project Specialist, Ibrohim Kosimov, gave an interview in which he highlighted the importance of the equipment provided. He noted that the resources delivered under the project will significantly increase the effectiveness of veterinary services, improve livestock care, and contribute to the long-term resilience of livestock-based households in the region.
