November 4 - Almaty – The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) held the final Regional Meeting of the Working Group on preparations for the forthcoming 27 Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP27) online.
The meeting brought together the officials of the relevant ministries and departments for the environment, environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as representatives of the international organizations and CAREC.
The CAREC presented the agenda of side events organized jointly with national and international partners.
The CAREC will hold the side events at the UNFCCC COP27:
1. in the Water Pavilion jointly with EC IFAS
2. in the Tajikistan Pavilion jointly with the Committee of Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan
Irina Bekmirzaeva, Manager of the Climate Change&Sustainable Energy Program, said the CAREC welcomes everyone to attend its side events.

The participants received information about the status of the preparation of the regional statement on behalf of the Central Asian Governments to be voiced at the UNFCCC COP27.
The representatives of the countries of Central Asia reported the current forming of the national delegations for COP27.
Representatives of the civil society of Central Asia said they intend to voice the Regional Statement on behalf of the Central Asian NGOs on all the platforms of the world climate summit.

The Regional Statement on behalf of the Youth of Central Asia will be stated at the UNFCCC COP27 as well.
The regional meeting is a part of the COP27 preparation series in Central Asia to discuss current organization and content.
