CAREC Project office in Turkmenistan and DKU open master’s program doors for students from Turkmenistan

The Project Office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in Turkmenistan has been helping Turkmen students for the past two years to continue their education in the Master’s program of one of the leading universities in the Central Asian region – the Kazakh-German University (DKU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

According to the students, they have the opportunity to study in a multicultural environment thanks to the assistance of Mergen Kepbanov, Director of the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan, who actively works to strengthen cooperation with DKU.

At DKU, students study German and English languages and participate in exchange programs with universities in Germany. The university offers courses on sustainable development, ecology, and intercultural dialogue. A friendly atmosphere is created at the university, where every student feels part of a large academic family.

Mergen Kepbanov emphasizes the importance of Turkmen students studying at DKU, as they will receive high-quality professional education, which they will be able to apply for the benefit of their country and for the development of the region as a whole. This year, three students from Turkmenistan have been admitted to DKU.

On August 12, 2025, a meeting with future Master’s students was held at the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan.The applicants expressed deep gratitude to Mergen Kepbanov for his help and support at all stages of admission, including document preparation and consultation. According to the students, the attention and assistance from the Project Office helped them confidently take a step toward new professional heights.

“Education is the key to sustainable development. I am glad that the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan can help young specialists take an important step in life. In the future, they may define their professional careers and achieve high results in the field of integrated water resources management and ecology in general. I am confident that their studies at DKU will provide them with the necessary skills and inspiration to implement projects that will benefit the entire Central Asia,” noted Mergen Kepbanov.

Mergen Kepbanov is confident that cooperation between the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan and DKU opens the way for young specialists to receive quality education, exchange experiences, and further contribute to the development of a sustainable and environmentally safe future for the region.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that such initiatives not only open new horizons for specific students but also contribute to the development of the human resources potential of the region, strengthening the bridges of friendship and cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.нтральной Азии.
