Specialists from the project “Resilient Landscape Restoration in the Republic of Tajikistan” participated in the international conference “Local Climate Action, Livelihoods and Resilience”, held on 11–16 November 2025 in Vienna, Austria.
The event brought together representatives of projects from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. Participants discussed the role of local initiatives in addressing the impacts of climate change, creating green jobs and supporting vulnerable population groups.

As part of the visit, the delegation also learned about Austria’s successful experience in the field of renewable energy. Participants visited the Zonnenfeld Bruck an der Leitha solar power plant, with a capacity of 5 MWh and supplying electricity to 1,500 households, as well as a biogas plant that processes up to 30,000 tons of organic waste per year.
The knowledge gained and practical solutions explored during the visit will support the further development of the green economy and sustainable initiatives in the Republic of Tajikistan.
