Delegations from Central Asian countries will take part in the Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2023), scheduled for May 16-17, 2023, in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan, to agree on further steps of implementing the Paris Agreement and discuss initiatives for climate change preventing in the region.
Representatives of the relevant ministries of the Central Asian countries, international organizations, the civil sector, and scientific institutions will take part in the work of the Conference.
This conference is organized with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia, and the World Bank.
The aim of the Conference is to inquire into the problems and shortcomings in the implementation of the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions of the Paris Agreement by the countries in Central Asia, as well as to explore the opportunities of regional cooperation and increase the sustainability of the environmental, water, energy, and food resources of the region.
In the conditions of the Central Asian region, the solution of climate challenges and adaptation to climate change is possible only through regional cooperation, therefore the conference serves as a platform for promoting and expanding the regional dialogue on cooperation and coordination of actions on national climate priorities and climate finance.
This conference is a preparatory stage for the organizing the next Central Asia Pavilion at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP-28), where there will be presented concepts, ideas, strategies for climate-smart transformation of the countries of the region.

The 5th Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2023) is organized by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) under Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program in the Aral Sea Basin AF (CAMP4ASB AF) and Central Asia Nexus Dialogue Project: Fostering Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus and Multi-Sector Investment (NEXUS) in cooperation with the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Central Asia Water & Energy Program (CAWEP), a partnership among the World Bank, the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and is supported by PROGREEN.
CAREC implements CAMP4ASB AF jointly with EC IFAS under the financial support of the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund.
