Astana, Kazakhstan – In the period from January 13 to March 2, 2024, Zamira Zholdaskyzy, Coordinator for Development of Community of Practice and Network of Academic Society of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), participates in the third School of Analytics with the support of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which aims to improve the quality of analytical approaches in public administration social sciences and humanities, media activities and the civil sector. It is noteworthy that the theme of the third School is dedicated to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan.
400 candidates participated in the competition, of which 60 were selected for training. It should be noted that the selection was carried out in 5 of the 17 areas of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 1 – “No poverty”, 3 – “Good health and well-being”, 4 – “Quality education”, 6 – “Clean water and sanitation”, 8 – “Decent work and economic growth”.
The course will result in the preparation of analytical materials by the participants, which will subsequently be used in the work of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since its establishment in 2001, CAREC has been promoting environmental cooperation and sustainable development in the Central Asian region and become a platform for cooperation for sustainable development. It should also be noted that the organization was entrusted with the task to prepare and implement the Central Asian Initiative for sustainable development (CAI).
A key aim of the CAREC Change Concept is to establish sustainable governance, performance, partnership, and information management principles at CAREC which will independently from management and human resources changes secure CAREC’s performance as internationally recognized regional center on environmental knowledge.
