A training “Media and climate change: theory and practice” will take place within the 5th Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2023) on May 11, 12 and 15, 2023.
The training will bring together representatives of mass media and media projects of Central Asia and is organized by the the World Bank and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia under the financial support of PROGREEN Trust Fund.
The purpose of the training is to promote the professional growth of media representatives and media projects of Central Asian countries for the preparation of high-quality and fascinating materials for a broad audience on topics related to water and energy in the context of climate change in Central Asia, food and environment issues are fully addressed within the region and beyond.
Learning Format: the design of the learning component is based on the approach of «mixed learning» (blended learning) and combines online and offline activity and mentoring.
The training program includes
- Online training - 11 and 12 May 2023 with experts on climate change production and multimedia project development, as well as interactive sessions with participants on online services and remote mentoring elements.
- Training in Dushanbe, Tajikistan - 15 May 2023:
a. Interactive work (mainstreaming climate change themes, specificity of CC coverage, etc.)
b. Presentations by climate change experts (international, regional, country)
c. Session on Mobilography
d. Session-pre-session, for individual preparation of journalists for work in the field of the conference (selection and production of topics, sources of information, schedule of meetings and visits to the conference sessions).
The 5th Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2023) is organized by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) under Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program in the Aral Sea Basin AF (CAMP4ASB AF) and Central Asia Nexus Dialogue Project: Fostering Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus and Multi-Sector Investment (NEXUS) in cooperation with the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Central Asia Water & Energy Program (CAWEP), a partnership among the World Bank, the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and is supported by PROGREEN.
CAREC implements CAMP4ASB AF jointly with EC IFAS under the financial support of the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund.
