Publication date: 01 September 2024

Yesterday, August 31, an exhibition-fair of domestic products was held in Bishkek, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Republic and the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan.

The exhibition presents products from various industries, including the food industry, agriculture, textiles, handicrafts, heavy industry and the automotive industry (products of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek automobile plant).

According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, more than 100 domestic companies presented their products at the exhibition.

The exhibition was also attended by the Ta-Bek and Ak-Chyi WUAs, which are pilot projects for the CAREC project “Improving the Economic Independence and Improving the Status of Women in Central Asia through Access to Irrigation Water and Infrastructure.” This regional project is being implemented with the financial support of the international The Coca-Cola Foundation.

Our pilot WUAs exhibited products grown by farmers-water users, who are environmentally friendly. During the exhibition, the products were completely sold to buyers.

This event was the first in the history of these WUAs; they had not previously participated in such events.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture expressed interest in inviting farmers from the two WUAs to the National exhibition on organic farming, which will be held in the third ten days of September 2024.

It should be emphasized that the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov assessed the products of local manufacturers. The head of state visited the exhibition-fair accompanied by members of the Cabinet of Ministers.
