“It is very interesting to observe the exchange between theoretical knowledge of professors and practical skills of water specialists” – says Zhanara Myrzabekova, leading specialist of the Water Resources Department of the Agency on Water Resources under the Government of Kyrgyz Republic. Zhanara together with the group of 19 specialists of the Agency from different regions of Kyrgyzstan is now in Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME). Capacity building courses are held from March 10th to March 22nd for the first group of water sector specialists from Kyrgyzstan with the support of USAID-CAREC “Smart Waters” project. These courses were initiated by Kyrgyzstan and supported by the faculty of TIIAME.
The main objective of the courses is provide opportunity for capacity building of water specialist in the field of hydraulics, modern methods in estimated water flow in open canals and hydraulic structures, hydrometrics, methods and systems of irrigation under various conditions and many other issues. Participants are having theoretical courses as well as practical ones – in the laboratories of the TIIAME.
