Tajikistan CEP hosts the final meeting of the CAMP4ASB AF project

On May 7, 2024, the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (CEP RT) hosted the final meeting of the project “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for the Aral Sea Basin, Additional Financing” (CAMP4ASB AF) at the National Library.

At the meeting, the CEP RT Deputy Chairman Mavlodod A.M. noted that the implementation of such investment projects with the assistance of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the target areas contributes to improving the environment, adapting to climate change and increasing the well-being of the population.

During the meeting, the project coordinators and officials made reports and presentations on the project activities, and the results achieved in the target areas.

The participants of the meeting were provided with instructions on the implementation of the Laws of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Association of Water Users”, “On Pastures” and instructions on environmental management and improvement of pastures in mountainous areas in the form of a booklet, as well as consultations on further efficient use of machinery and equipment provided to users of target areas within the framework of this project.

Let us remind you that the Regional Project “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin” (CAMP4ASB) received additional funding until May 2024 from the Green Climate Fund and was renamed “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin Additional Financing” (CAMP4ASB AF). CAREC implements the project jointly with EC IFAS under the financial support of the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund.
