Central Asia Nexus Dialogue project started in Ashgabat
November 15, 2017, first consultation in the frame of Central Asia Nexus Dialogue project: Fostering Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus Dialogue and Multi-Sector Investment (NEXUS) project in Turkmenistan was held, the day after Memorandum of Understating between Executive Committee of International Fund for Saving Aral Sea (EC IFAS) and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) was signed.
Participants of the Meeting were presented by deputy directors and head of departments and leading specialists of the following organizations: Scientific-Information Center of the Interstate Committee for Sustainable Development (SIC ICSD), Scientific-Information Center of the Interstate Coordination Water Commission (SIC ICWC), Executive Committee for International Fund for Saving Aral Sea (EC IFAS), Ministry of agriculture and water resources of Turkmenistan, State Committee of Turkmenistan for Environmental Protection and Land Resources, Ministry of finance and economy, Project Institute «Turkmensuvylymtaslama», Academy of Science of Turkmenistan, Turkmen Agricultural University Named after S.A.Niyazov, Medzhlis of Turkmenistan and Hydromet.
Goal of first consultation was presentation of NEXUS project and its objectives, to gather recommendations on potential partners in Turkmenistan as well as intergovernmental platforms where project can work in order to identify intersectoral investment projects.
