Uzbekistan ratified the Paris Climate Agreement

On September 27 the Uzbekistan Senate ratified the Paris Agreement On Climate Change (Paris, December 12, 2015), the correspondent of "Gazeta.uz" reports.

Uzbekistan joined the UN Paris Climate Agreement in April 2017.

According to the senators, the agreement will serve as a "road map" for the UN member states and will help reduce emissions and strengthen the resilience to climate change.

The Paris Agreement was adopted within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which regulates measures to cut carbon emissions into the atmosphere as of 2020.

At the moment, the accord has been ratified by 170 countries, who pledged to take measures to reduce emissions, re-equip and adapt to climate change.
