Resource mobilization training: CAREC shares its experience

On October 17-18, 2016, CAREC holds a training on resource mobilization for the staff of regional organizations on environmental issues in Central Asia. The training is organized in cooperation with the GIZ programme Transboundary Water resources management in Central Asia, within the framework of the project Strengthening the capacity in sustainable water resources management at the regional, national and basin levels. .

CAREC annually conducts meetings with regional organizations to improve the long-term partnership and strengthen cooperation in the field of sustainable development and management of water resources in Central Asia. In this context, the results of the meetings on May 25-26, 2015, in Almaty, identified the need for capacity building of staff of regional organizations.

Iskandar Abdullaev, Executive Director of CAREC:

“CAREC always holds an open dialogue with regional organisations for equal partnership purposes to strengthen their unanimous position in tackling regional challenges we are facing. In this context, capacity building for regional organisations will enhance regional dialogue. In order to sustain strong partnership on international fora and promote the interests of Central Asia on environmental and sustainable development matters, having a high professionalism and expertise is a crucial prerequisite. CAREC has certain knowledge and experience in this regard and is ready to share with all partners to strengthen cooperation and better contribute to the environment of Central Asia.”

The resource mobilization is crucial for any organisation to fulfil its mission and strategy along with organizational development and appropriate working atmosphere. Resource mobilization is no longer attached only to financial activities, but it is also about having long-term effective relationships with donors and partners. This work requires effective communications strategy and continuous dialogue.

From a practical resource mobilization work, in the example of specific projects, CAREC will share own experience in developing concepts and preparation of documents. Participants will also examine the procedures for submitting required documents and registration within the European online system – The Potential Applicant Data Online Registration (PADOR).

Having theoretical knowledge of resource mobilization, participants will prepare a concept and budget of the project based on a hypothetical project call, and at the end of the training they will receive constructive feedback and recommendations.
