Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Recognizes CAREC Contribution

Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Summarizes the Year and Recognizes the Contribution of CAREC’s Regional Climate Change Specialist

On 30 December 2025, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic held a ceremonial event to summarize the results of the year.

In his remarks, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, Meder Mashiev, highlighted the key achievements of 2025, including a significant strengthening of the technical capacity of the Ministry’s regional divisions, as well as the systematic development of strategic environmental and climate policy.

Among the most important results, he noted the development and approval of the Concept for Kyrgyzstan’s Environmental Security through 2040, the Concept for Achieving Carbon Neutrality in the Kyrgyz Republic, the preparation of the NDC 3.0, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening national measures for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring staff members who made a significant contribution to the Ministry’s development and effective performance over the past year.

Under a special nomination, Vladimir Grebnev, CAREC’s Regional Climate Change Specialist, was recognized for his contribution to promoting information and materials on the Ministry’s work, including on regional cooperation and engagement with CAREC. It was emphasized that, thanks to his proactive approach and professional communications support, the prepared materials received the strongest response in online media and helped increase public awareness of the Ministry’s activities, environmental protection, the climate agenda, and regional cooperation among Central Asian countries.

CAREC congratulates colleagues at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic on the year’s achievements and successful results, and reaffirms its readiness to continue joint work to strengthen environmental and climate resilience and to further develop regional dialogue in Central Asia.
