A quarter of a century is a significant milestone, during which your organization has evolved into a recognized regional hub of knowledge and cooperation on environmental protection and sustainable development in Central Asia. We highly value your professionalism, innovative approach, and the energy you invest in strengthening climate resilience and environmental security in the region.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of fruitful cooperation with your team. In particular, we would like to highlight our recent joint events. In June 2025, in Fergana and Samarkand, a joint four-day training on climate risk assessment was held for the Shakhimardan and Isfayramsay river basins, as well as the Zarafshan River basin. This was an important step in knowledge exchange and enhancing regional capacities in addressing climate challenges.
These events are a vivid example of how CAREC effectively brings together the efforts of diverse stakeholders — from governments to the scientific community and civil society — in advancing climate adaptation and fostering regional dialogue. For our Climate Risk Management in Central Asia programme — in cooperation with GIZ and other partners — such initiatives have provided a solid foundation for strengthening the regional knowledge base and practical solutions.
Allow me to express deep gratitude to your team for your invaluable contribution to enhancing environmental security in Central Asia, for your commitment to innovation and sustainable development, and for your openness to cooperation and knowledge exchange.
