The Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety is an addendum to the Convention on the Conservation of Biodiversity. The Biosafety Protocol is aimed at protecting biological diversity from potential risks associated with GMOs.

Overall objective / Specific objectives: To provide technical guidance and assistance in the development of a regulatory framework on biosafety at the national level, including the creation of an administrative system for interstate cooperation and the improvement of human resources.

Target groups: Government organizations (MPRETN, MVRSHiPP, IEC and Kyrgyzstandart, Customs Service, businessmen and farmers
