Thematic area
Conservation of the biodiversity of mountain ecosystems and related ecosystem services, as well as ensuring the viability and sustainability of livelihoods in the Pamir-Alai Landscape of Kyrgyzstan, including Key Biodiversity Areas (KTB). The project will provide global environmental benefits through the equal participation of women, youth and vulnerable groups.
General information

To preserve and protect the biodiversity of Key Biodiversity Territories in the Pamir-Alai ecological region, specially protected natural territories have been created (GNP Sarkent, GNR Surmatash, GNP Kyrgyz-Ata, GNR Kulun-Ata and GNP Kara-Shoro). The natural conditions and the potential for ecological and economic development are different, taking into account these factors, additional efforts should be made to improve the management of these natural territories and increase the potential of specialists and the local community.

·       Implementation of monitoring tools to enhance the protection of biodiversity in five protected areas

·       Improving the competencies of employees of five protected areas

·       Communication and Preparation of the final report on the assignment.
