The project aims to strengthen Uzbekistan's methane monitoring, reporting, and regulatory framework by enhancing the national methane inventory, conducting policy and data gap analyses, supporting methane policy and regulatory development, and building the institutional capacity of relevant stakeholders for effective methane management.
The project is being implemented in support of the national climate commitments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the new Law “On the Limitation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions” (No. ZRU-1073). It focuses on the introduction of modern approaches to monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV), leveraging top-down satellite data to strengthen national GHG inventories and support evidence-based decision-making in the energy sector of Uzbekistan.Project Details
