Meeting of the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development Held in Dushanbe

Dushanbe, Tajikistan – 4–5 November 2025 – The Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), Batyr Mammedov, will take part in the meetings of the Advisory Council and the Interstate Commission for Sustainable Development of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (ICSD IFAS), organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event will serve as an important regional platform for discussing cooperation among the Central Asian countries on joint actions aimed at continuing efforts to address the Aral Sea and the Aral Sea Basin challenges, as well as promoting their environmental rehabilitation.

During the meetings, participants are expected to review issues related to the reform of the ICSD IFAS and to determine new priorities for regional cooperation in the upcoming period.

Organizers emphasize that the meetings of the ICSD IFAS will become a significant step toward strengthening partnerships among the countries of the region and will contribute to enhancing collective efforts to ensure environmental sustainability and improve the well-being of the population of Central Asia.
