The Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Kazakhstan visits CAREC

The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kazakhstan, Ulrich Kinne, and Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), Batyr Mammedov, emphasized the importance of further strengthening regional cooperation on climate change, energy, and sustainable development in Central Asia during the working meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The meeting took place on September 26, 2025. Special attention was given to the significant role of the German Government as a long-standing and reliable partner of CAREC in promoting environmental initiatives and sustainable development across Central Asia. Ulrich Kinne expressed his appreciation for CAREC’s flexibility and ongoing efforts in facilitating regional cooperation processes. Besides, he congratulated Mr. Batyr Mammedov on his recent appointment as Executive Director of CAREC and wished him success in his new role.

The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kazakhstan, Ulrich Kinne noted that regional initiatives should contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation among the countries of the region. He also highlighted that reinforcing regional ownership is a key element of sustainable and long-term collaboration.
