How the CA youth can be involved in the organization of the World Water Week?

The World Water Week is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators and young professionals from a range of sectors and countries come to Stockholm to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today. The World Water Week takes place annually in the latest week of August in the capital of Sweden – Stockholm. In 2018, the World Water Week will be held from August 26 to 31.

The main organiser of the Water Week is Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). In 2018 the topic of the event is “Water, Ecosystems and Human Development”.

Today we would like to tell you how you can be involved in the process of organization and conduction of this event. Young professionals will be interested in this article especially.

In order to be a part of this global event, there are more opportunities than just register yourself as a participant. There are other options, which first serve to help SIWI in the organization of the World Water Week. Here we describe the ways how to be involved and contribute to the organization of the Water Week. But, we have to tell in the very beginning – you have to be fluent in English for all below described opportunities, as English is the only official language of the World Water Week without any translations. Ready? Here it comes:

1.       Junior rapporteur – deadline for application is April 15

SIWI is looking for a team of junior rapporteurs (between the age of 20 to 35) to help to report on the cross-cutting trends, knowledge and innovations discussed in sessions at World Water Week.

They collaborate with experienced scientists and water professionals, to capture, summarize and analyse the discussions that take place during World Water Week. Junior rapporteurs are the instrumental part of the concluding process and also add another, important perspective to it: the young professionals' perspective.

Junior Rapporteurs receive registration to the World Water Week (including lunch), access to social events, public transportation within Stockholm and endless networking opportunities.
